Fire guts 50 shops in Ladipo Auto Spare Parts market
There was a flame episode at Ladipo Auto save parts market, Mushin Lagos at around 2 am yesterday morning which destroyed around 50 shops to the ground.
No unmistakable reason for the flame has been determined as such. One source told The Nation that
the flame was brought about by a gas blast while another source said it was by unpredictable force
supply. The flame purportedly began from the Osoro/Akinwumi range of the business sector.
One of the brokers at the business sector, Chukwu Ebuka Ekeneze said:
"The flame was brought on by gas; there is a lady who cooks close-by we heard her gas was left on and that prompt the flame episode," he said.
Another merchant, Emeka said:
"We got to the shop at the beginning of today and discovered our things copied; the flame began 3am early today, we couldn't rescue anything. My neighbor kept N2 million in his shop however arriving it was all smoldered, we picked the cash and whatever we could feel was the fiery remains. The security men on obligation instantly alarmed flame warriors, yet they arrived the scene around 6am."
Ifeanyi Maduka said:
"Well I can't give you certainties, however judging from all that has happened here since, we can't determine the reason for the flame, this flame began around 2.am. This is regularly a business situation; there is no probability anyone could have been here to determine how it began, yet some said it started from the electric post, and giving the way that there is gas around, it helped the flame to raise. The data did not get the opportunity to shop proprietors until around 5am."
Mr Felix Okoro, Chairman of the Osoro segment of the business sector, said no setback was recorded however products worth a great many naira were devoured by the inferno.
Lagos State Fire Service Director, Mr Rasak Fadipe, said his men reacted quickly, and that the flame was put out at around 10 a.m.
