As indicated by an announcement by the Police Service Commission, scarcely three weeks after they opened the entrance for applications, 705,352 candidates have sent in applications for only 10,000 opportunities.
The announcement said '202,427 had effectively connected for the position of Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police', '169,446 for Cadet Inspector' and '333,479 as Constables'.
The commission just needs 500 Cadet Asps, 500 Cadet Inspectors, 1,500 Specialist Officers and 7, 500 Constables to meet President Buhari's endorsed 10,000 new participants into the Force.
The Police Service Commission executive, Sir Mike Okiro, said there will be decency and equivalent open door for all applications as the Commission was just inspired by selecting the best brains for the police power.
